Good Takes- April Vokey on Fontinalis Rising and my musings on gender

Here is a great interview with our favorite steelheader April Vokey in Fontinalis Rising. I have also linked my other April related posts below. You can also just click her name in the categories to your right. I have also included a link to a bunch of stories on the Samantha Brick controversy. Samantha Brick is journalist from the UK that published an article about why being beautiful difficult. She commented that men sexualized her and women hated her because they were jealous. There has been quite the firestorm online. Brick to her credit is not backing down and suggests that all the back lash is simply evidence of the validity of her argument.

Looking back on my earlier posts about April I think our crowned princess of steelhead and journalist Brick have suffered the same fate. They were up front with their looks, used them to their advantage and were unashamed to be taken seriously based not on their physical appearance but the content of their expertise in their chosen fields. This whole thing wreaks of Mean Girls/Queen Bees and Wanna-Bees.

I should just stick to catching fish.
