|Powers Fly Fishing||
My older brother is on the Madison fishing. Family obligations kept me back east this time though I hope to make it out next year.
Technology as great as it is does not do this home away from home river justice.
It is cold out there. Decked out in new Simms waders from A Marblehead Flyfisher, Rich is using the usual fall streamer and dropper rig. Earlier in the day most fish fell to the prince dropper. Later on they started to fall to my uv ice dubbed cone head green over died bleached zonked. That fly is tied on a size 4 9394 but ties on a tube or cut shank equally well. Most of the fish are browns, with the one featured below being typical. He also reported one cut bow. Nothing beats a fall take of a swung fly. Enjoy!
Take a look at the rio line recs for 2013. They list a skagit of 225 for a certain rod yet they do not list a line weight this light in their specifications. I hear the 275 is too heavy for the new redington prospector 4 wt switch. Does this head exist, is this a typo or is rio suggesting we break out arts and crafts time to get the right head?
Oh and just to be clear that is a 130+ foot cast.
I see some cool new lines in there.
